R2: probably not seeing as it's disease/poison gas esque, the only good ending for this would be for Superman to nope the fuck out as soon as possible with as many people/animals as he can. EDIT: no guarantees on insanity though, considering the main character was scarred on the plane ride back.

that expedition was already a casualty free event that he could handle without shedding his identity. Yea definitely if they attack in broad daylight. R1: Is he part of the first group or second group? If 1. Can Superman faces down the dread Cthulu and ram a boat down the tentecled gods face?īonus: Can Superman comprehend an Old One? (This is current Superman written by Grant Morrison). Clark Kent's journey aboard the "Emma" while travelling to New Zealand when the boat reaches the dreaded City of R'lyeh. Can Superman stop the invasion of The Deep Ones? Seeing what is going on, Superman springs into action to save those being sacraficed to "The Deep Ones". Clark Kent is sent to investigate the town of Insmouth and their apperant ritual sacrafices. R4: Superman in "The Shadow over Insmouth". Upon his arrival, the invisible creature burst from the Wateley farm house and terrorizes the country side? Can Superman protect the people of Dunwhich and stop/perhaps help the Wateley brother? As reports of Wilbur Wateley gains noteriety, Clark Kent investigates the town of Dunwhich. Can the young Superboy saves his family's farm? R2: Superman in "The Colour out of Space". Can Superman lead his group out of the mountains with no one dying or going insane? Upon reaching the ruins, the are accosted by Shoggoths and giant pengiuns while the ever present fear of a greater threat persist upon them. Famed industrialist Lex Luthor is holding an expidition to the anarctic while being accompanied by journalist Lois Lane, Clark Kent and Photographer Jimmy Olsen. R1: Superman in "The Mountains of Madness". Superman is at a Speed Bullet level but for the sake of creativity he still has heat vision and his various other visions (x ray, telescopic, infared ect) However, I don't think anyone in the DC universe can engage Cthulhu unless they can phase out of space-time as well. This isn't so much " SUPERMAN VS CTHULU" as it is "What if Superman was experiencing various Lovecraft stories (one of which is "Call of Cthulu"). Also, more powerful characters such as Darkseid or Doomsday can handle Father Dagon and Mother Hydra as well, though I cannot comment on how they would retaliate since there is no account of them in combat. Therefore, I would like to think that the DC universe can eliminate the Deep Ones with enough time. His physical nature is not known but is said that he can change his shape as he wills. The physical nature of Father Dagon and Mother Hydra is not known, therefore I cannot tell whether they are killable or not.Ĭthulhu however is a cosmic entity and exists outside of space-time. The Deep Ones, despite being immortal, can be killed easily by a few bullets and therefore will not prove to be a anything more than a minor inconvenience to deal with (as per the Call Of Cthulhu video game, but that is not canon). Therefore, the real fight would be between Cthulhu, Dagon, Hydra and their Deep Ones minions vs DC universe. The other major entities are Father Dagon and Mother Hydra, who are the progenitors of the Deep Ones (fish people) race but are not Great Old Ones themselves. The only Great Old One in R'lyeh (AFAIK) is Cthulhu (who is in deep slumber). Since you mentioned R'lyeh, I doubt that causing disturbance here would awaken all of the Great Old Ones. Azathoth, Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, Shub-Niggurath, Nyarlahotep, Yig, Hastur and 100+ other god and demigod level entities awakening at once and bringing along their equally horrifying minions is a total end of the world scenario. If its all the horrors, then pretty much everyone is fucked. You mean all the horrors from Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos or only the Deep Ones?
